Greater Orlando Area's State of the Economy
The greater Orlando Area has lost over 52,000 jobs since Alan Grayson was sworn in as a Congressman. Our unemployment is over 11% with over 117,000 men and women unemployed. The people want a robust economy and jobs!
Instead our Democratic government policies are pointing their daggers right at the heart of Orlando and instead of adding economic strength, are adding programs that will add trillions of dollars of debt and an unsustainable tax burden.
We all know that Orlando is the world’s renowned tourist attraction. Families everywhere love our Disney, Universal, and Seaworld attractions to name just a few of our treasures. Over 52 million visitors come to Orlando every year – all making the choice that they want to come HERE and see our world-famous attractions.
And what makes these visitors’ decide to come here? Answer: the economy. How much discretionary money is left in the family budget for vacations? What pressure is the family experiencing that reduces its available money for travel?
Well, we see the result of this administration’s policies: NY’s Mayor Bloomberg proudly announced that NY has overtaken Orlando as the number one tourist destination. That means Orlando has now dropped to #2. I can only surmise what has happened is that groups such as our Northeastern visitors, given the choice of flying or driving to Orlando for a week’s vacation or driving to NY for a weekend visit, chose NY. Why? THE ECONOMY!
Let’s look at the Obama administration’s international policies that affect our tourism. International visitors spend 5 times as much in Orlando than domestic visitors do so wooing international visitors is really good business.
We host nearly 3 million international visitors a year – most are from Brazil, Canada, and the UK. Yet these are the countries that the Obama Administration, supported by Alan Grayson, has decided to damage relations with – threatening trade wars with Brazil, promising to renegotiate NAFTA to damage our trade with the Canadians, and now providing fodder to the British newspapers with stories of the “Barack Obama’s top 10 insults against Britain.”
INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS DIRECTLY AFFECTS ORLANDO.
So let's review the math. Alan Grayson is very proud of his bringing home the bacon to the district. We send a $1 and we get 97cents back. Ummm.
Versus
Improve the economy and grow the economy like in our tourism industry. Add 100,000 United Kingdom visitors and we would GROW our economy by $100 million dollars.
The Alan Grayson school of economics supports the federal policies that take the money from Floridians and then HE gets to bring some back to us and for this we are supposed to be thankful.
The Peg Dunmire school of economics supports the GROWTH of our economy building on what we have and expanding job opportunities to reduce our unemployment. Improve the economy so tourists can come to Orlando. Improve the economy so entrepreneurs want to start new businesses. Improve the economy so we have more money in our pockets for US to decide what to do with the money.
Which school of economics do you support?

TEA PARTY NOMINEE PEG DUNMIRE CALLS FOR DISTRICT 8 DEBATE
WITH GRAYSON AND WEBSTER
"I congratulate Senator Dan Webster on his victory in the Republican primary and we look forward to a meaningful discussion of the issues facing this District and the nation. I immediately call on Dan and Alan to participate in at least two (2) debates at a time and place to be determined. It is important to allow the citizens of District 8 the opportunity to evaluate all three of us prior to the November general election," stated Peg Dunmire, TEA Party nominee for the US Congress District 8.
Dunmire, 62, won the Tea Party nomination without opposition and will face incumbent Democrat Alan Grayson and former State Senator Dan Webster who won the GOP nomination with less than 40% of the vote.
For the primary, over 100 tea party volunteers placed over 1,000 "Remember in November-It's Tea Time! Dunmire for Congress yard signs at over 200 precincts in the District.

48 hours from the primary and what is the state of affairs? On the governor's level, the debate is vicious. What is the truth?

The Republican Party of Florida and tea party activists are up to dirty tricks. They are using lies, the courts, and the media to discredit me and to allege I am conspiring to take Republican voters away from Republican candidates. TRUE! Newsflash: Elections are about taking votes away from certain candidates and getting them to vote for others. DUH. I am on the side of truth. I stand for freedom, truth and honesty. The dirty tricks operators do not.
